Dative Verbal Construction
Some verbs expressing feelings, emotions and attitudes have different word order and typical grammar rules do not apply to them.
Líbí se mi Praha.
Sluší ti ta nová kravata.
Dědečkovi chutná guláš.
Hodí se vám středa večer?
Differently from usual rules, here, the person always becomes the object (in Dative) of the respective feeling or emotion.
I like Prague.
Prague seems nice to me.
The new tie suits you.

Pronouns in Dative
The verb often stays in the third person (singular or plural). It is often the pronoun that can indicate who the sentence is about.
The dative pronouns are:
já – mi
ty – ti
on – mu
ona – jí
to – mu
my – nám
vy – vám
oni – jim
- These pronouns are always used in the Second Position in the sentence.
Other Languages
Other languages such as Spanish or German also have a similar grammar pattern:
Me gusta Praga.
La nueva corbata te queda bien.
Prag gefällt mir.
Die neue Krawatte passt zu Ihnen.
